kids bunking school

My 15 year old grandson inadvertently texted me this morning – instead of his mom. He was just advising her that he and his sister we’re at home but would be leaving for school soon, to get there by 10 am. Then he realised his error and sent another text to me saying “sorry” …

Here is my text reply – which I thought, for an old codger, at 8 am in the morning, before my caffeine fix,  was pretty good.

I am VIRTUAL MUM
Ruler of the known universe including all children bunking school from 9-10 am.
..sometimes known by my nickname  as “bad jelly ”
Be afraid
Very afraid
And remember what happened to hansel and gretel when THEY bunked school!

ok ok
I know their nearest primary school was 1000 kilometers and 4 centuries away

But no excuses!

Really – time and space are all relative (pun intended) and H&G should have done a better job anticipating Einstein rather than concentrating on the short term problem of filling their bellies.

Enjoy the gingerbread moment….but don’t get burnt at the oven. And remember to study hard , obey your parents, and pray for peace, happiness  and justice and goodwill to all

yeah,  right…..
